This One Very Common Prospecting Mistake Will Torpedo Your Home Based Business Before You Even Get Started
One of the keys to being successful in network marketing is having the ability to quickly and accurately qualify your prospects. People have different criteria in making these important decisions, but it really comes down to one important question:
“Is your opportunity one that will help solve the problems of your prospect?”
Too many people in network marketing make the critical mistake of qualifying people based on how the prospect will add to their OWN business. For example, if Mary comes to me willing to spend thousands of dollars in capital to gain entry in to my home business opportunity, this would mean a huge commission in my pocket. But before I can in good conscience add Mary to my team, I need to assess her needs and wants to be sure that they are consistent with the ability of my opportunity to satisfy them.
Under what possible circumstances would I disqualify a prospect?
Here’s another example.
Let’s say that John comes to me inquiring about my home business opportunity. John tells me he has looked over the business briefly, has the few hundred dollars to enter the opportunity at the lowest level, and is eager to get started.
Before I accept John’s money, I have a conversation with him regarding his needs and wants. It turns out that these few hundred dollars is all John has left in the world, he is unemployed, no immediate prospects of finding work, has no prior experience in network marketing, and needs $3000 in the next 20 days to make his mortgage payment or he will lose his home.
There is no way that I can recommend this opportunity to John, nor any network marketing opportunity that I know of, because I understand how unlikely it would be for John to meet these critical needs.
This is an example of putting your prospects needs in front of your own.
It is critical to get this right.
Putting your own needs and wants ahead of your prospects will almost certainly result in the ultimate failure of your home business.
I make this statement with no hesitation because I firmly believe that the intention of your business will ultimately decide its fate.
If your intention is solely to make a lot of money for yourself as quickly as possible to satisfy your OWN desires, your prospects will quickly realize this and move away from you as a leader who can help them. However, if your true intention is to help others solve THEIR problems and meet THEIR goals, and your opportunity can help them realize these goals, then you have the perfect opportunity for adding them to your team and helping them succeed in their business.
Making this important shift from your own needs to those of your prospects will set you up as a leader to be followed and a person of great integrity. You will undoubtedly make more money in the long run and thus, meet your own personal income and life goals in the process. And there is one more advantage:
You’ll be able to sleep at night.
How An Entitlement Mentality Will Destroy Your Home Business… Before You Even Get Started
The Entitlement Mentality. I see if everywhere I go.
Entitlement is defined by Websters Dictionary the following way:
The belief that one is deserving of certain privileges.
I see it in our workforce, people believing they should get a raise even though they are lazy in their jobs.
I see it in our children, who believe they deserve material things just because everyone else has them.
I see it in our society, who believe that everyone is entitled to own a home, even if they don’t have the means to support it (now hasn’t THAT gotten us into a heap of trouble!).
And I most definitely see it in Would-Be-Entrepreneurs. The people who believe that simply by starting a home business, the profits should automatically roll in.
I could write a book on each of the above examples, but for today I’ll focus on the last group, because experiences are fresh in my mind.
I find it fascinating talking to people who call me, asking about starting their own home based business. I am part of a rather popular opportunity because of its many automated features.
In this opportunity, the automated system pretty much does everything for the business owner, except for one thing…. Marketing. Yes, SUCCESS does take work, and study, and perseverence, and getting through lean times…. just like anything else worthwhile.
But I continue to get calls like this from people who have joined our business opportunity.
Caller: I don’t get it. I paid my money to get into the business. I read over the website. But it’s two months into it and I still haven’t made any money.
Me: Tell me what you’ve done in marketing so far.
Caller: Ummm.. well… I’ve read over the marketing material on the website and I understand it pretty well.
Me: Okay, but what action have you taken?
Caller: Well… ummm…. I haven’t actaully taken action yet, but I plan to very soon.
Me: Good! Call me back about a month after you’ve taken some action, placed some ads, put your face out there… and we’ll talk again.
Caller: Silence. Ummm.. okay.
Thankfully this isn’t an every day occurence, or I’d be ripping out whats left of my hair.
But every time it happens, I just sit there looking at the telephone in amazement.
People think they are entitled to make money on the Internet simply because they bought into a business.
People get really pissed off when the money doesn’t automatically just start rolling in.
And many times, people quit without really taking any action at all. And they blame it on the business, or their sponsor, or the bad economy, or a hundred other circumstances going on in their lives.
They point the blame everywhere but where it belongs….
IN THE MIRROR.
The reality is simple.
Business is Business.
Business is Work.
Business is Sacrifice.
But done correctly, business can be wonderfully profitable and provide you freedoms that you cannot possibly imagine in a J-O-B.
But you are not ENTITLED to it.
You have to WORK for it. Just like the rest of it.
And when you work for it, and you succeed, and you have that first 5 figure month, there’s no better feeling.
To your success and your work ethic!

Jay Kubassek’s Simple Secret To Success in Network Marketing
I just came across this video from a great friend and hugely successful network marketer that I want to share with you.
Jay Kubassek is the CEO of the company I chose for my primary income source on the Internet, but his wise words apply to all network marketers in any opportunity.
Truer words have never been spoken. It’s a problem we all face daily and one that needs to be overcome if you want to be successful.
Enjoy folks.
Have a great and productive day!

When One of Your Team Members Quit
As you start becoming more successful and start adding to your team, you take on a new responsibility — that being to make sure your new members get off on the right foot and are given the opportunity to thrive.
But where does it stop?
Welcome to Day 22 of my “30 Tips in 30 Days” Holiday Blog special, where I give you one free business or marketing tip every day in the month of December (except Christmas). If you’ve missed any of the previous posts in this series, click on the Business and Marketing Tips Category on the right sidebar.
What exactly IS my responsibility towards my team? This is one I really struggled with, particularly at the beginning.
I would bust my butt for my new members, making sure they had everything they needed, answering their questions as soon as I receive them, and basically holding their hand through the entire setup and orientation process.
NO MORE.
That’s not to say that I leave my new members high and dry. Far from it.
But I have automated my systems to the point where they receive all the information they need to get started. I orient them to the business, discuss their short term and long term goals, both in terms of income and in life.
I sit down with them for 30 minutes or so and REALLY discuss what they want and how they can get it with our opportunity.
And I am very open about it. I don’t sugar coat it.
I never use the word EASY, SIMPLE, or FREE.
Because none of it is simple, easy, or free. Not with my business, not with ANY business.
And because of these facts, people often quit.
A lot of PEOPLE QUIT.
In fact, if you believe the statistics, approximately 97% of people who start a home based business will ultimately quit before they reach their goals.
And every time one of my members quit, I use to lose sleep. I asked myself questions like,
“What did I do wrong? How could I have helped them more? Why would they quit?”
I asked these questions among feelings of guilt and worthlessness. I just assumed it was MY fault.
But it wasn’t, and it took a heart-to-heart with my good friend, and co-creator of Carbon Copy PRO, Aaron Parkinson to help me see it.
Aaron was helping us pick apart our business to figure out what was holding us back from taking it to the next level. And one thing we started talking about was how we handled our team members.
When I told him my feelings about my team members who quit, I really thought he was going to hit me.
After lambasting me for a while, he got serious and told me something that CHANGED MY BUSINESS MINDSET and allowed me to push through the barriers that were holding me back in my business.
He told me…
When people quit the business, it is NEVER the fault of the sponsor. You have given them the OPPORTUNITY, that’s all. Each person who joins is responsible for their own business. They had the same resources as you had, and you’ve made it big, so why not them? Because THEY CHOSE TO QUIT because it was too hard.
WOW!
That short speech changed my life. Aaron went on to make some analogies that made alot of sense:
- 95% of people who start medical school don’t graduate.
- A large percentage of people who start college don’t finish.
- A huge percentage of people who speculate in the stock market end up losing their capital.
Do you think that the medical schools, colleges, or stock brokers return people’s money because they failed? I’ve never heard of one. People invest in a venture, whether it be a risky investment, an education, or a home business knowing that they may not succeed.
And whether or not they succeed is TOTALLY up to them.
If they make it, it’s because of their effort.
If they fail, its because of their effort.
Think about those statements. Whether or not someone excels or fails in anything is a direct reflection of the effort they put in.
That one realization took a lot of pressure off me as a business coach. I can do everything I can to help people lay a proper foundation for their business, but THE REST IS UP TO THEM.
If they lose their money, it’s because they quit, NOT because I fail them.
So as you being sponsoring people in your business, it’s imperative that you understand these points.
If you don’t, it will keep you up at night and it will stop you from pushing your business to new heights.
To your prosperity!

December 22, 2008; Cresskill, NJAre You Getting Social Networking All Wrong?
Welcome to Day 12 of the ‘30 TIps in 30 Days’ Blog special — one Business or Marketing Tip for each day of the month of December. Today we turn our focus squarely on Marketing.
Sidenote: I am spending the day at a special workshop with Jay Kubassek, Aaron Parkinson, Dennis Karganilla, Jimmy Davis, and Howie Schwartz who will be doing one-on-one coaching with Rosemary and I. Yes, it WAS expensive, but we know that any money we spend taking advantage of this offer will be DWARFED by the financial returns we will see because of what we learn.
It’s all about INVESTING IN YOUR BUSINESS, guys.
Because we will be at this event all day (and then to the Carbon Copy Pro Holiday Party later tonight), I am going to make this short and sweet….
Are you getting Social Networking all WRONG?
Why do I ask this? Because I am amazed when I go to social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter how many people I see blasting broadcasts about their business. Just amazing.
You see, these people don’t get the point of Social Networking.
It’s NOT about selling your business products or opportunity.
It’s about BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS and developing TRUST.
So here is my Marketing Tip for the Day:
When using Social Networking sites, NEVER lead with your business. In fact, don’t even mention it. Start getting to know people on a personal basis. Develop a relationship OVER TIME, and the rest will follow. Don’t force things.
Everyone on these sites who are interested in “networking” have their own agenda with their own opportunity. Trying to force your opportunity down their throats will strictly result in regurgitation.
And you’ll generally have nothing to show for your efforts.
Here is the BEST VIDEO I have ever seen that explains how to market on Social Networking sites.
Check it out:
Until tomorrow, be healthy and happy… the weekend is almost here!

30 Tips in 30 Days: Day 7 — Do This One Thing and Your Chances of Making Significant Money Triples
If you may remember, back on Day 3 of our 30 Tips on 30 Days Series, I talked about the importance of training and allocating a significant part of your initial marketing budget to laying your marketing foundation with education.
You see, you can buy leads, but once they’re gone, they’re gone. But once you learn HOW TO MARKET, you can easily generate an unlimited number of leads…. sometimes free or at very low cost.
But today, I want you to consider something that you may not have thought important:
ATTENDING YOUR COMPANY’S LIVE EVENT
Statistics have shown that people who attend their company’s live events, especially within the first 6 months of joining the opportunity, almost triple their chance at being successful.
It may seem weird that the simple act of attending a conference or live event will have such an effect. It was not until we attended our first live event with our current company that we discovered why it’s so important.
Let’s take a closer look….
Here are some of the advantages of attending a LIVE EVENT:
- You get to meet the leaders of your company, the people who started the company and run it on a day-to-day basis. You get an idea of their vision.
- You come to really understand the value of the products you are marketing, by seeing how they have positively affected the lives of others. Most people who market products use them routinely and can have some terrific testimonials.
- You get to see people who are making REAL money in your business. This no longer is a hypothetical possibility of making money… now you see it first hand. You can talk to these people and find out what THEY did to get to where they are today.
- You can meet people who work in the offices of your company, like customer service reps. These are the people in the trenches every day, and it is strategically very advantageous to befriend one or more of these key people. When you have an issue with your back office, need a product returned, have problems with a customer’s order, now you have someone REAL to turn to.
- You can network with others who are just starting out, get their contact information, and provide support for each other as you struggle to make a name for yourself. Some of my best marketing ideas were borne out of conversations I had in just such circumstances.
- You can LEARN new marketing strategies. I am lucky enough to have joined a company that holds an actual Live Marketing Event twice a year where they teach the latest and hottest marketing techniques. If your company provides such training at their live events, take advantage of it.
So lets get in to the nitty gritty….
6 Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Live Event:
- Dress professionally. Business casual is the norm, so there’s no need to dress in suits, but don’t look sloppy! You are beginning to project your image, so look the part!
- Be a sponge! Listen to everything and take a lot of notes.
- Don’t be a wallflower! Even if you are an introvert like me, FORCE YOURSELF to be bold. Introduce yourself as a new member of the company, and more than likely you will get a very warm reception. If you find yourself at a lunch or dinner table knowing nobody, take advantage of it and meet EVERYONE at your table.
- Get business cards prior to the event so you can give them out to people you meet at the Conference. The purpose? People will now have your contact information, and you can ask for theirs in return. Ask them if it’s okay if you call them with questions. Most will readily agree.
- Watch for special discounts. Many companies offer special deals or discounts on such things as trainings, stepping up to the next compensation level, and products. Be willing to consider any that interest you. Rosemary and I have used several of these discount deals at our Live Events to get specialized training that would otherwise be cost prohibitive.
- Bring your camera!
Why bring your camera?
Well, you need to start building your credibility with your prospects, right? When you are first getting started or don’t yet have a lot of success, you might feel like you don’t have any credibility.
So you have to BORROW some!
When my wife Rosemary and I were just starting out, we went to our company’s live event and took pictures with every leader we could find. These were people who were making REAL MONEY. These were people who had made a name for themselves.
Why would we do this?
First take a look at the pictures throughout this blog post. What do you see?
You see Rosemary and I with some very influential and successful people in our primary business and throughout the Network Marketing industry.
You get the picture. IT IS CREDIBILITY THROUGH ASSOCIATION.
People look at these pictures, and say….
“Hey, look who Bob and Rosemary know! They must be in the “inner circle” to have such friends.”
Whether you are just starting out or have been in the industry for years, pictures at live events give you INSTANT CREDIBILITY in the eyes of your prospects.
Put them on your blog, your web page, or anywhere else to build your credibility over night.
Take home lesson for today?
GET TO A LIVE EVENT! Do whatever it takes, but if you’re serious at making it in network marketing, get there. I’ve never talked with anyone who later regretted it.
To your happiness,
Bob
August 7, 2008; Cresskill, NJ30 Tips in 30 Days: Day 3 — When It Comes To Your Marketing Dollars, Spend Wisely
This is Day 3 of our 30 Tips in 30 Days Free Marketing Tips Series. Yesterday we talked about identifying your prospects. Today, we switch gears and talk about MONEY.
How you spend your marketing budget each month will go a long way in determining your success in the MLM/direct sales industry. And how you allocate your dollars when you are just starting out will be vastly different from how you spend your marketing dollars as become more experienced.
One of the most common and, I believe, most costly mistakes that newbies make in this industry is in how they spend their early marketing dollars.
After all, we want to make money, right? :-)
Most new network marketers get flack from their friends and family members about starting a home business, and the natural tendency is to want to prove them WRONG — as soon as possible!
So, the majority of people just starting out in network marketing make a BIG MISTAKE when it comes to allocating their marketing budget. What mistake am I talking about?
They BUY LEADS.
Now I am not totally against buying leads in the right circumstances. But now when starting out. Here’s the problem.
When they are new to the industry, most people have NO IDEA how to actually talk to a prospect. They don’t know what to say, how to say it, and how to avoid sounding like they are begging for a sale.
The result: People RUN from you.
They RUN and they HIDE. You start calling and leaving messages, people don’t show up for followup appointments. You call some more, and then frustration and doubt sets in. You seriously begin doubting your decision to join in the first place.
It is the first step in the cascading process that ends in network marketing failure.
But you need to have leads, right? You need to talk to people if you are going to make money. In the long run, absolutely. In the short term — NO!
It sounds paradoxical, but I believe the worst thing that can happen to a network marketing newbie is to have leads before they are ready.
So how do you get ready?
EDUCATION, my friends… and TRAINING.
Rosemary and I are both huge believers in EDUCATION.
It is the key to being successful in anything.
Just think about it. You wouldn’t try to be a doctor without going to medical school.
You wouldn’t try to fix cars without some kind of training first (well, some would, but that’s another story).
So what makes people think that sales and marketing is any different. If you have never had any training in these areas, you need to get some.
BEFORE you open your mouth to your prospects.
I know some people will disagree with this, but I truly believe that this is one of the major contributing factors to the very large drop off rate in this industry.
It’s fairly easy to start a home-based business. It’s not so easy to be successful.
The BOTTOM LINE!
How would I spend my initial marketing budget if I was just getting started in Network Marketing (and had no previous training)?
Lets say I had $1000 as an initial budget. Here is how I would spend it:
- $800 Marketing Education and Training
- $200 Start up Costs for Home Office, Supplies, and miscellaneous expenses
Notice I did not say ANYTHING about leads or prospects.
That’s because, if you have no prior sales or marketing experience, you’re not ready for them.
What kind of education would I suggest?
Check back tomorrow for Day 4 of the 30 Tips in 30 Days Holiday Special.

30 Tips in 30 Days: Day 2 — Just Who Are Your Prospects?
IF YOU MISSED ANY OF THE PREVIOUS TIPS IN THIS SERIES, Go to the Business and Marketing Tips Category on the right side of the blog.
Hi again, everyone. Yesterday we discussed how to go about setting up your new home based business. So now you’re all set to go prospecting!
But who exactly ARE your prospects?
When I joined my first network marketing company a number of years ago, I was taught that…
EVERYONE WAS A PROSPECT. Anyone within a 3-foot radius was fair game.
This single piece of advice set me back at least 3 years in terms of network marketing success.
Why? Because, while it’s very nice to think that everyone wants to join your opportunity, the realistic fact is that network marketing is not for everyone…. in fact, it’s not the right fit for MOST people.
The first and most important fact that you’ll need to get in your head is that you are looking for that special person who understands the value of the network marketing industry AND who is at the right time in their life to go after their dreams. Not everyone is.
I’ve talked to many great prospects who were fully qualified to join my team but, after discussing their current circumstances, realized that the timing was just not right for them to give the time and dedication necessary to be successful in this industry.
I’ve gotten to the point where I am fairly exclusive in who I choose to work with in my business. I don’t take just anyone. This may sound a little arrogant, but it’s as far from arrogance as you can get.
I’ve realized over the years that people who join network marketing for the wrong reasons or having unrealistic expectations will LIKELY FAIL. I feel that by choosing not to work with them at the beginning, I am actually doing them a favor.
I am saving them a lot of frustration and, more importantly, a lot of money.
So who do I work with?
I am looking for the following qualities in a prospect:
- Someone who understands that this is a BUSINESS, and businesses cost money when first starting up. It will take people with NO CASH a lot longer to turn a profit in their business, and 99% of them will quit before they see that profit.
- Someone who understands that building a business is a PROCESS, and it is not a get rich quick scenario. In fact, unless you’ve got prior network marketing experience and have already learned the skills necessary to make money online, it will likely TAKE A WHILE TO TURN A PROFIT. I see many people looking for a home business opportunity who are doing so because they NEED A JOB. They have no money and need to make some quickly to pay their bills. These people are NOT your prospects.
- Someone who is coach-able, will listen and follow directions, then take what they’ve learned and apply it to their businesses in an independent manner. In other words, people who take responsibility for seeking out the information they need, and then applying that knowledge to grow their business. Coach-ability and independence are key traits in a network marketer.
- Finally, I am looking for that person who is NOT AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS. For most people starting out in network marketing, the skills they will need to acquire are much different than anything they’ve done before. They need to understand that growing their business will involve getting out of their comfort zone. For me, making videos was a huge challenge. I disliked even the thought of making a video and having it splashed on YouTube for everyone to see. But I knew that video marketing is a very powerful way to get your message out, so I took a course, got the knowledge I needed to make videos and understand how to promote them, and then I made the videos. They were terrible at first, downright awful. But I kept doing them until I got more comfortable. This is still a skills set that I am working to improve, but I’ve come a long way and gotten past the discomfort. This is a very important quality in a potential prospect, and one I value highly when determining if I want to work with that person.
So there you have it. The traits and qualities I look for when deciding if I want to add someone to my network marketing team.
If you are just starting out, you will probably be saying to yourself, “But I haven’t sponsored anyone. I can’t afford to be choosy.”
The fact is, you can’t afford NOT to be choosy. Take it from personal experience. If you sponsor people who are not the right fit for network marketing, you and your new team member will have a miserable experience.
Worse, you may even feel as if you are to blame for getting them involved in the first place.
Set your standards now. Think of the kinds of people YOU WANT TO WORK WITH.
And then prospect.
Now prospecting is not just a process of reaching out to anyone who will listen and trying to convince them of your great business opportunity.
Now you are the one in control. You are talking to people, getting to know them and understand them. And as you do that, you will know if they are right for YOUR opportunity.
This is YOUR BUSINESS. You are the CEO. You make the decisions.
Decide early on who your prospects are, and you will save yourself a lot of time, money, and stress.
For my more experienced readers, can you add to this list? Leave a comment.
Til tomorrow,
Bob Clarke

Are You a Sheep Or a Wolf?
I just got off the phone with Aaron Parkinson, co-creator of Carbon Copy PRO Marketing.
Aaron was talking about the recession and the economic prospects for the next few years. He made an analogy that I feel is worth sharing.
The economy is tanking. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know the seriousness of that statement. But what are you going to do about it? Are you going to be actively looking for solutions, or are you going to let it be, let it ride, and be like sheep being led to a slaughter.
The picture of sheep being led en masse to the slaughter is an appropriate representation of what will happen to us if we take a wait and see attitude.
Wait and see what will happen with my life savings.
Wait and see if I will keep my job.
Wait and see if I can keep paying the mortgage on my house.
In this case, taking a “wait and see” attitude is a disaster.
It’s a well known fact that, in every economic downturn in history, including the Great Depression, there was money to be made, and there were people who prospered financially.
These were the people who EDUCATED THEMSELVES financially, enabling them to protect their savings and make sound investments when no one else even considered them.
I am lucky enough to be part of a company, Wealth Masters International, that have products that you cannot afford to be without right now.
Let me repeat that —
THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT OPTIONAL.
I don’t like to plug my own businesses on this blog, but times have changed.
I have something that you NEED to have. So let’s put our cards on the table.
Will I benefit financially? Absolutely!
But not as much as you.
Why?
Because you will be gaining the MOST IMPORTANT thing that people who prosper in a recession all have: FINANCIAL EDUCATION.
- You can learn how to keep more of your money.
- You can learn how to protect it and minimize your taxes.
- You can learn the steps to take to secure your financial future.
If that was all, I would go tell you to buy a financial education book and be done with it.
But there’s more…. much more.
With the Wealth Masters Product Line, you get access to several “alliances”, companies hand picked by Wealth Masters to help you PERSONALLY in your specific situations.
Companies that deal in wealth acceleration, asset protection, tax minimization, credit restoration, and much more.
Imagine, a team of financial professionals right at your fingertips, without having to go out and research the internet to find them. Invaluable. And these are the BEST OF THE BEST!
NOTE: Wealth Masters has no financial arrangements with these companies; they are totally independent. Thus there is no risk of any conflict of interest.
Want STILL MORE?
OK. This will blow you away.
Wealth Masters also provides you access to private investments that the public never sees.
Investments that hold true in this type of economy, when others fail. You get to rub elbows with the investment gurus in various sectors and find out the very latest investments that can grow your money.
ANOTHER NOTE: Wealth Masters does NOT give investment advice, nor do they offer investments as part of their services. Rather, they allow you access to the people that do offer these types of exclusive investments.
So there you have it.
- Financial education
- Teams of Professionals at your fingertips
- Exposure to Exclusive Investment Opportunities.
Instead of a sheep waiting for the slaughter, you have now become a WOLF, ready to take action given your new found knowledge.
Guys, you need to check this out.
I am sharing this with you because I truly feel that, without this type of education, we are all one step away from financial ruin. I’m not kidding.
Take action now… be a wolf.
To your financial education!

Is Carbon Copy PRO a SCAM?
I got a nice email from a young lady yesterday. It seems she had visited my Carbon Copy PRO website but was concerned about leaving her name and email because, as she put it, “there are so many scams out there.”
I called and assured her that Carbon Copy PRO is NOT a scam, that it is a legitimate, lucrative home business opportunity, and that it is associated with a well recognized and respected financial education and wealth creation company called Wealth Masters International.
I told her that, NO , it most definitely is NOT A SCAM, that my wife and I are making good money with their system and improving weekly as we learn more and more from their 30 Day Marketing Guide.
She was assured, and she is now taking a closer look.
But I got to thinking about her statement….
“There are so many SCAMS out there!”
Are there really?
I don’t think so, and I’ll tell you why. I’ll also tell you why I feel sorry for people searching for a legitimate home business opportunity.
Surely, there are some scams out there, some illegal at worst and misleading at best. But I think they are exposed fairly quickly and gone from the horizon.
But do this exercise for me….
Go to Google and type in any home based business you can think of. MLM, direct sales, it doesn’t matter which ones you choose. After each business type in the word “Scam.”
Type in Carbon Copy PRO Scam.
Type in Wealth Masters International Scam.
Type in Amway Scam. Type in Herbalife Scam. Type in USANA Scam.
Type in any other network marketing company you know of.
What do you see?
I just performed this exercise with Carbon Copy PRO, and this is a sampling of what I found:
Don’t Join Carbon C. Pro
Don’t Buy Carbon C Pro
(Carbon Copy Pro Scam) *FORBIDDEN* Truth Here
YouTube – Carbon Copy Pro SCAM – TOOK MY MONEY!! (internet business)
Is Carbon Copy Pro a scam?
Work From Home Are Scams
You see a trend here? You will see these headlines for ANY home business opportunity you type in Google.
Surely, THEY CAN’T ALL BE SCAMS! In fact, this last example seems to implicate the ENTIRE Network Marketing Industry!
A closer look tells the story.
Every one of these ads or articles is written by someone who is marketing another home business opportunity. Every one.
And sadly, some are even written by other Carbon Copy PRO associates, who then turn it around and get more leads for their business. Why would they do this?
Because people type in scam in Google all the time. It is always one of the highest searched words, so marketers take advantage of it.
So what is the person to do if they are looking for a legitimate home based business?
Here is my advice
- Be brave and try not to be so suspicious. Most opportunities are not scams.
- Learn more about each company, talk to people actually doing the business, and study the compensation plans and business models (i.e. doyour due diligence).
- Ask a lot of questions, go on conference calls if offered.
- Ask to speak with other members, especially ones who have just joined — not the person who will be sponsoring you and profiting from your joining his business.
- Find a mentor who is knowledgeable, friendly and most importantly, willing to take the time to show you the ropes to get you started in your new business.
Remember, the ads you see on Google are meant to draw your attention. But they are almost always written by people selling their own opportunity.
Sometimes they are posted by angry former home business owners who failed and did not make money.
But that is the subject for a different post.
Remember…..
BE AWARE, not BEWARE!
Do your due diligence, but don’t buy into these scare tactics.
Good luck and prosperity!
